How does Wiped work?
Wiped is a privacy protection app that, with one click, activates an emergency data lockout, securing your phone’s data from unauthorized access. This is ideal for situations like traffic stops, arrests, or any vulnerable moment where your device might be compromised.
What happens when I activate Wiped?
When activated, Wiped initiates a lockout, which wipes sensitive data from active memory and blocks any further access to your phone. Your device remains inaccessible until you're in a safe environment with legal representation.
Will Wiped delete all my data permanently?
No, Wiped does not permanently delete your data. It initiates a factory reset on your phone, temporarily removing access to your information and settings. Once the emergency has passed, you can restore your phone by following the setup steps and signing back in with your credentials, just like when setting up a new phone.
Can law enforcement still access my phone after I use Wiped?
Wiped is designed to block access to your phone, but legal processes may still allow authorities to access your phone with a warrant. However, Wiped gives you time to ensure you have proper legal representation before your data is accessed.
Can I undo the Wiped lockout?
You can restore access to your phone once you're in a safe environment or have legal representation. While the lockout cannot be undone, you can follow the steps to restore your phone after it’s triggered through a hard reset.
Does Wiped work on all smartphones?
Wiped is compatible with both iOS and Android devices. Please check your device’s software version for compatibility.
Is my personal data stored on Wiped’s servers?
No, Wiped does not store any of your personal data. The app operates directly on your phone, ensuring that your information remains private and is not uploaded or stored externally.
